If you were to ask me to describe a super nice day in Falmouth, it would be today. Beautiful weather, a bit breezy, blue skies, and fun adventures.
We started the morning with a walk around the pond - our normal 2 1/2 mile walk, waving to friendly neighbors, seeing things we have not previously noticed in our dozens of other walks around the pond, and enjoying this warm summer day.
When we returned home, we did a bit of exploring in the gardens in the yard. We saw some beautiful flowers in full bloom. And the next thing we found was very exciting. Blackberries!
There are several blackberry bushes in the back yard, and we were enthusiastic berry pickers this afternoon. Pick two, eat one. Yum!
This afternoon, we drove to Falmouth High School to pick up my Volunteer info for this weekend's Falmouth Road Race. When we first decided to stay in Falmouth for the summer, I immediately registered as a volunteer for the famous Falmouth Road Race. I have previously run this amazing race, and wanted to be a part of it. My running days are in the rearview mirror, so volunteering is how I will experience it this year.
At the Falmouth High School, they had a running expose and there were long lines of runners picking up their numbers and the annual coffee mug provided as a souvenir.
After the running expo? Beer. We visited Aquatic Brewery on Main Street in Falmouth. Nice beer, and a great way to end our day.
