While in Mexico, we were thinking of where to spend the rest of 2023. We know that we had the month of May scheduled in Fiji. But where to stay in June?
Well, why not return to Cape Cod?
And so here we are, back in Falmouth! And, we couldn't be more excited.
Despite the lingering effects of jet lag from our month in Fiji, we started our long drive super early Thursday morning. We made it to the western edge of St. Louis. For the second day's drive, we put in more than 13 hours, and made it to the middle of rural Pennsylvania. I was very nervous about parking the car with two bikes on the bike rack, but found a very unique way to avoid theft.
We arrived to Falmouth mid-afternoon on Saturday, and was able to quickly unload the car and unpack at our house in the village of Teaticket. It is a cute, well cared-for house, with two small bedrooms, one bathroom, a very small kitchen, pretty large living room, and a nice deck with furniture and an outdoor shower. It is a very short drive, quick bike ride, or long walk to Bristol beach. The house is super close to everything we need, and we can walk to get groceries, the liquor store, shopping, pizza, and more.
After unpacking, we drove to my brother's house in Sandwich for dinner and for a good catchup.
We are thrilled to be back on the Cape.
Our plan is to spend 6 weeks in this house, then move to another house in North Falmouth (one of our favorite areas on the Cape). In mid-August, we are homeless for a couple weeks, before we check in at our house in Dennis for the month of September.
