Madness in Las Vegas

For several years, my son and I have dreamed about going to Las Vegas to experience March Madness. Some last minute planning, and we are here. And its living up to its hype!

We arrived to the South Point casino to meet friends who have reserved seats in the bar/sports book. They had to get up at 3:30a to get down to the bar to reserve a section! Televisions everywhere. Lines to place bets. Waitresses and bartenders incredibly busy. And all of this at 10:30 in the morning! We were in our element. Affordable drinks and easy access to TVs and betting.

We hung out in the sports book until the end of the University of Arizona game (yes, the Wildcats won easily). After 8 hours of sitting, watching basketball, it was time to get out and walk a bit.

We drove to one of the newest additions on the Las Vegas strip - Resorts World. This is a massive, incredibly impressive hotel and casino. They have a unique dining experience called Famous Foods Street Eats. It is a collection of tiny mini-restaurants, offering take away street food options of many Asian cuisines. The walkway looks like cobblestone streets, and the options are amazing.

We grabbed some dumplings, and then shared a chicken curry with prata - a kind of roti. Delicious!

From Resorts World, we walked to several nearby casinos including Wynn, Palazzo, Venetian and Treasure Island. This is a VERY busy weekend in Las Vegas, and everywhere we went was packed. Fun to see Las Vegas back and busy.
