Distillery, Beers & Lobsterfest

Paul

Today was a slightly overcast, cloudy day. The perfect day to explore some nearby towns. And today's exploration was Mashpee.

Our first stop was the Cape & Islands Distillery. This is a brand new facility, having opened just a couple weeks ago. They make a variety of spirits, including rum, vodka, and gin. They also sell pre-made drinks with some fun names. We split a tasting session, and we each got a specialty drink - they were awesome!

Directly next door to the Distillery is Cape Cod Coffee. But we were not here for the coffee. They also have a very fun and busy bar, where we enjoyed some local Cape Cod beer.

Tonight, we visited my brother's house in Sandwich for his family's annual Lobsterfest. Starters included steamed shrimp, stuffed quahogs, and stuffed scallops. But the main star of the event was the local lobster.
