Boston - Day 2

Day 2 was our indulgence day. Indulge in food. Indulge in drinks. Indulge in Boston.

First stop was some coffee before hitting the streets. We walked through Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market (way too touristy), and through the North End. This is one of my favorite spots in the city.

Lunch at a small Italian restaurant on Hanover Street. Still hot and humid, but we decided to sit outside to get a bit of fresh air, and listen to the sounds of this bustling neighborhood. They were preparing for a festival, putting up banners and booths. It seems that there is a festival every other day in the North End.

There is only one way to finish lunch in the North End - get a cannoli. There is a long-standing battle on who has the best cannoli - Modern Bakery or Mike's. You need to visit the North End yourself to find out.

We had to walk off the Italian lunch and cannoli, so we headed towards the waterfront. We walked along the Harbor, past the Aquarium, and headed towards the Seaport District. It was hot. Really hot. So, once we hit the Seaport District, we stopped in for a quick beer at Trillium Brewing. We couldn't decide what we liked more: the tasty beer, or the freezing cold air-conditioning.

We returned to our hotel for a quick break, before heading over towards Faneuil Hall to visit the Sam Adams Tasting Room. They had an amazing selection of small batch beers, and we split 8 tasters.

Now, where to go for dinner? OK, back to the North End. A table on the sidewalk, with some cold drinks and amazing Italian dishes. This day of indulgence was so very satisfying.
