Bartolomei Conservation Area Hike

Paul

How lucky are we? We just found out that we are a one-minute drive from a really nice trailhead. The Bartolomei Conservation Area is a beautiful natural reserve, with a big lake, multiple hiking trails, lush greenery, amazing birdlife, and an incredible spot for a morning hike.

We walked through lush, wooded areas until it opened up to a beautiful pond which has the most bland name: Pond 14. The trail weaves around the pond, opening up to some wetlands. The cool morning breeze was a respite from the hot sun, and the serenity of it all was so very relaxing.

Bartolomei Conservation Area is adjacent to the Coonamessett Greenway Heritage Trail, which provides miles of beautiful hiking. There are multiple natural areas next to each other, each with their own hiking trails and areas.

We have lots of exploring to do here. And with so much natural beauty so close to our doorstep, we don't have to go far to find it.
