Back home in Fiji

Paul

Bula from Fiji!

We arrived to what we consider one of our homes. Fiji is so very special to us. We have been visiting Fiji for 25 years. Lisa has been here at least 8 times. My visits to Fiji now measure over 50 times.

Our flight on Fiji Airways was uneventful. My favorite kind. We arrived to the Nadi International Airport and quickly made our way through Immigration and Customs. With only small backpacks, we didn't have to wait at the luggage carrousel. A car was waiting for our pickup in the parking lot, and we headed over to the nearby office to spend a few hours relaxing and checking our emails.

Our 2p flight to Yasawa Island Resort & Spa was spectacular as usual. Our Sunflower Airlines flight took us over pristine coral reefs, deserted islands, until we finally reached Yasawa island. Landing on the private grass airstrip is so much fun, particularly as we approached the strip from the beach side. We were greeted by smiling, friendly Fijian faces. And, hanging out by the Yasawa sign was a contingent of village kids, all smiling and full of happy 'Bulas'.

Within minutes we were at Yasawa Island Resort & Spa.

We will be in Fiji for one month. How lucky as we. There is a conference in Nadi in mid-May, and we will be bouncing back and forth between the island and Nadi. After all this travel, we are very tired. But, we are thrilled to be back in Fiji, back in our tropical home.
