A Dream Morning in Falmouth

Paul

This morning, we decided to finish the Coonamessett Greenway Heritage Trail by visting the far northern region along the Coonamessett Pond. It was a stunning morning, and with the exception of one guy with a friendly dog, we did not see another soul for over 90 minutes.

The hike was very pretty. Possibly our favorite so far. Gorgeous trees, some flowers, tons of birdlife, and glimpses through the lush forest of the neighboring pond. When we finally reached the shoreline of the pond, we were surprised at its size - it is huge. And so very peaceful. No one was out. No swimmers. No kayakers. No sailing. Just a cute duck couple and us.

This was the first place in the past three weeks where I saw some mosquitos. A couple bites, but nothing serious.

After returning to the house, we loaded up a kayak and took off to Jenkins Pond. I am borrowing this combination kayak/SUP and wanted to try it on a calm morning. It worked really well, and I got to explore some of our neighborhood pond.

Just returned back to the house for lunch. We have a beautiful day here today, and tons more to explore.
