We did a bit of exploring the last two days. Walking through neighborhoods, visiting lesser-known sites, getting a bit lost and discovering new things.

At night, we can see from our house a large white-domed church that is lit up beautifully. So, we decided to find it on our walk. Come to find out, we had already walked by it a week or so ago and had no idea. It is a very pretty church.

A bit further up on the hillside, there is a strange, unique, and (in our opinion) ugly addition to the San Miguel de Allende skyline. It is a hotel with a gigantic goose on the roof. Yes, a goose. So, we decided to see what it looked like up close, and it was as ugly as we initially thought.

On our walks, we saw some cool buildings, churches, and statues.

On Monday, we decided to visit two of the more dramatic vistas in the city. The Mirador, and the Mirador Cruz del Pueblo. We walked through the large Parque Benito Juarez, up past the cultural centre that was full of artists painting their masterpieces.

There was a TON of steps and steep hills to access these miradors. However, once there, we were amazed at the views.

There are a series of stairs that make their way down towards the city centre, after which we needed to walk on the very steep streets. We meandered our way through the city, eventually returning to a small square off Ancha de San Antonio where we had seen some food vendors. We tried three different tacos from three different stands. The perfect lunch!

With full bellies, we made our way back to our house for some downtime and reading. Pretty much an ideal day in San Miguel de Allende.
