This weekend I am in New York City, working at the New York Times Travel Show. As I was setting up my table, I decided to have a quick walk around before any of the public was allowed in, and I came across this booth. This is a tour company that offers guided trips to visit Chernobyl. As part of your tour, you are given a Geiger counter!
Having watched (and loved) the HBO Series Chernobyl, I am enthralled. It does seem a bit strange, and even a bit dark, to visit this abandoned city with such a tragic past. However, I must admit: I want to go!
