Happy New Year CDMX!

I wish I could say that we made it up until midnight to welcome in the new year. But no. We watched a movie, made dinner, and went to bed at 10p. So, this morning, we welcomed in the New Year with our 12 grapes (a Mexican/Spanish tradition). We should have good luck in 2023.

For breakfast, we enjoyed delicious scrambled eggs with our new favorite spicy guacamole sauce and some heated tortillas. This may be a daily menu for us.

We wanted to get out and do a bit more exploring. We walked around some neighborhoods and made our way to the massive Bosque de Chapultepec park. It was a sunny and warm day, although the air pollution today was really bad. That's what happens with a massive population in a valley at high altitude.

We walked through a gauntlet of street vendors, everyone yelling about their wares. You can buy almost anything. We settled on two paletas. Delicious Mexican popsicles.

To escape the crowds, we walked into the forested part of the park, where there is a section dedicated to Mexico's famous poets.

From the park, we headed back down Paseo de Reforma towards one of our favorite neighborhoods, Zona Rosa. We found a taco stand that we really liked and had a snack. Along the way, we saw one of the many signs around town where you can call and hire your own entertainment. One of these days . . .
