Diving, Jetskis, Cancun & Pizza

My wife and I wanted to go scuba diving. Our son chose sleep, as he was not feeling well. We went diving with Tank-Ha. The staff insisted that we take a free deep-diving course, which is silly considering that we have decades of diving experience. However, the team at Tank-Ha was nice and professional. The 2-tank dives were OK. Not great, but it was so nice being back in the water.

When we returned to the condo, we asked our son what he wanted to do. Jet skiing it is.

After jet skiing, we hopped in the car and took a drive to see Cancun. On the way, we passed by the exit for the airport. Traffic was completely stopped, and the access road was jammed. Come to find out, the US government had announced that they were stopping all flights to Europe. So, many European visitors to Playa/Cancun, who had to fly home via a connection in the USA, had to depart no later than today.

After working our way around the traffic, we headed to Cancun. Wow. It's huge. Very built up, with one massive resort after another. This is so very different from our visit 30 years ago.

We luckily found a small, family run restaurant on the water. Food and a bucket of cold Coronitas were delivered to us as we sat on the covered dock.

We returned to Playa and the serenity of our rooftop pool, which every time we visited it, we had to ourselves. Later in the afternoon, we enjoyed our daily routine: shots of tequila, beer, chips, salsa and my homemade quacamole.

That evening, we were craving pizza, and visited a nice wood-burning pizza place. During dinner, two musicians set up in the street and entertained everyone.
