Strolling Old Quebec City

Paul

After our morning at the Montmorency Falls, we drove to Old Quebec City for a stroll. It seems that everyone else had the same idea. Huge crowds, mostly fueled by the parked cruise ships along the river.

A quick look around proves what I have heard: Quebec City is the most European-like city in North America. The old buildings, architecture, street layout and overall feel are just like a European city. Add to that the French language heard everywhere, and it does feel like we are in France.

Despite the huge crowds of tourists, it was nice walking in the old section of Quebec City. The weather was beautiful, and we could even enjoy lunch outdoors at a cafe. Lunch today: French onion soup and duck wings.

After lunch, we continued to explore the historical area of old Quebec City, enjoying the cobblestone streets, historic buildings, and old-world charm.
