Montmorency Falls

Paul

Our first stop this morning in Quebec City was Parc de la Chute-Montmorency, home of the Montmorency Falls. The park is just a few minutes outside of the city, but feels like you are a lifetime away from the busy urban area.

Montmorency Falls flows from the elevated hills along the St. Lawrence River, ultimately dropping 272 feet down towards the St. Lawrence. Hard to believe that this waterfall drops about 100 feet higher than the more popular Niagara Falls in neighboring Ontario.

Located at the Park is an ornate building that houses a restaurant and hosts events. There are trails on either side of the waterfalls, connected by a suspension bridge you can walk over to view the waterfalls up close.
