Boston & Points Beyond

Wanting to purchase a Red Sox jersey, my son and I traveled back to Fenway to go to the Red Sox pro shop.

We then hopped in the car to drive around Boston. We drove around the Public Garden, towards Fenway, then headed up Mass Ave. We drove past M.I.T. and around Harvard Square. We then cut across to Charlestown.

Our first stop was at the Bunker Hill Monument. This obelisk can be seen for miles, and is a great vantage point to look back towards the city. Due to Covid, it was closed, so we could not go up to the top, but there was plenty of information and signs explaining the historical importance of this location.

Our next stop was a visit to Quincy - home to two American Presidents. Quincy has a charming downtown area, and we stopped at the United First Parish Church, which has a very historical cemetery. Both John Adams and John Quincy Adams are buried here, and there are very old grave markers and monuments.

Just a few miles away is the Adams National Historic Park, which is home to the Adams family compound. A beautiful old home, surrounded by lovely gardens.

A few miles south and you will find the John Adams Birthplace National Historic Park.
